Nigeria is only three years away from the next Presidential election, but political parties are wasting no time in declaring who they feel should rule the country next.
Though many political bigwigs have been making statements, the most recent political Stakeholder to speak on the 2023 Presidency, is Lanre Ogunyemi, the Lagos State APC Secretary.
Ogunyemi speaking for the Lagos State Chapter of the ruling party, noted that if Bola Ahmed Tinubu decides to run for President in the next election, it would not be out of place, because of his track record.
The party’s State Secretary, disclosing this information at a briefing in Lagos, said that the APC National Leader has all it takes to lead Nigeria, and has every fundamental right as a Nigerian to become the next President.
He said: “Tinubu has all it takes to lead this country, and he has every fundamental right as a Nigerian to aspire; it is now left for Nigerians to accept or not, it is now left for the party to decide who flags their ship, as a Presidential Candidate, come 2023.
“Whether he has briefed us or expressed any body language, whether people are against it or not, we are sure he has everything to lead this nation.”
Ogunyemi further explained that Tinubu has contributed a lot to modern Nigeria, and described him as the Moses of our time.
He said: “Whichever way it goes, let us decide if it goes to the South; let us decide whether it goes to the South-West or South-East, and what we look at is merit; who can take us to the place that Nigeria ought to be.
“If we find that in Bola Tinubu, why not? He does not have to brief us, let us keep watching the body language, and see what will manifest in 2023. We are standing absolutely on his mandate.”
