Anthony Joshua, the World Heavyweight Boxing Champion, has been confirmed to fight with Kubrat Pulev, at Tottenham Hotspur’s Stadium, England, on June 20.
Anthony Joshua will face Bulgarian Kubrat Pulev, the IBF’s mandatory challenger, at Tottenham Hotspur’s 62,000-seater Stadium.
There had been suggestions that the Nigerian/British Boxing Star would face Tyson Fury, but Deontay Wilder activated the clause in his contract, on Sunday, that gives him a re-match with the Gypsy King.
That meant that Joshua had to find a fight for the summer, and Pulev has confirmed that they will be meeting at Spurs’ ground.
“The contract is already officially signed”, Pulev, the 38-year-old former European Amateur Super-Heavyweight Champion, said on his Facebook page.
“I am happy to be able to show the world how strong I am.”
A statement added: “OFFICIAL: Kubrat Pulev faces Anthony Joshua! The date is June 20, at the new Tottenham Stadium, in London, for the World Heavyweight Title.
“The battle between the Bulgarian Boxer, who is a mandatory contender for the belt of the International Boxing Federation, IBF, and the Brit, is guaranteed.”
Joshua then confirmed the fight on his own Twitter account. He captioned an image of himself with all four belts with the words: “June 20th.”
Joshua last fought in London, in September 2018, when he beat Alexander Povetkin, at the Wembley Stadium.
