The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, has provided a State-by-State breakdown of coronavirus infections in Nigeria.
On Sunday (today), the NCDC announced 5 new cases of the contagion spread across Lagos, Oyo, and the Federal Capital Territory, FCT.
While there has been no death in Nigeria on account of the disease, Health Experts are already expressing concerns about possible community transmission of the virus.
The NCDC said: “Till date, 27 cases have been confirmed, 2 cases have been discharged, and there has been no death from Covid-19, in Nigeria.
“Of the new cases, 3 are in Lagos State, and 1 in Oyo State, and 1 in the FCT.
“A multi-sectoral national emergency operations centre, activated at Level 3, continues to coordinate the national response activities.”
The NCDC gave the breakdown of the disease in Nigeria as follows:
Lagos – 19
FCT – 4
Ogun – 2
Ekiti – 1
Oyo – 1
Total: 27 confirmed cases.
