IT IS OFFICIAL: Super Eagles Coach, Gernot Rohr, To Sign New Contract With Very Tough Working Conditions By The NFF, In A Week

After months of speculations, and back and forth between the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, and Super Eagles Coach, Gernot Rohr, on the extension of the latter’s contract, the former has confirmed that the new contract will be signed within days, Bestchoicesports.com.ng reports.

The NFF stated that baring any hindrances, Mr. Rohr will sign the new contract, provided he accepts the conditions given to him in the new engagement

The NFF President, Amaju Pinnick, disclosed this on on a breakfast programme on Arise TV .

The former CAF Vice President, said that in the new contract, Mr. Rohr is expected to live in Nigeria, be paid in Nigeria currency, Naira, and must go around to monitor the local League.

He added that the Federation will seek legal opinion in the new contract engagement. 

While stating that the Football body has stayed in contact with overseas-based Players of the National teams, and assured that they are all doing well at this delicate time, Pinnick declared that the body has given Super Eagles’ Technical Adviser, Mr. Gernot Rohr, some conditions for the renewal of his contract.

“We have told him (Rohr) he must live in Nigeria, and that his salary will be paid in Naira (the Nigeria currency). He must go round League venues, and see how he can nurture the Players. If he is able to accept, we have a deal.

“We will seek legal opinions on International Coaches’ contracts. We shall also seek the opinion of the Sports Ministry. He should get the contract (with the new conditions) in about a week’s time so that he can revert after studying it.”
