BREAKING: Covid-19: No Payment, No Evacuation Back To Nigeria – Minister Of Foreign Affairs Technically Declares To Stranded Nigerians Abroad

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama, has disclosed that Nigerians residing abroad, who have indicated interest in returning home, due to the coronavirus pandemic ravaging the world, will have to pay, before their evacuation back to Nigeria.

When asked if those who registered for evacuation would pay before or after their evacuation, the Minister reportedly replied: “before evacuation”.

He did not however, respond when asked if the government had any plan for those who may not be able to afford a return ticket, the report added.

Recall, that many Nigerians have been clamouring to come back home, following the increase in cases of Covid-19 drastically, across the world.

A viral video on the social media, showed about 100 Nigerians being evicted from their homes and hotels, in Guangzhou, recently, by the Chinese authorities.
