A group has picked the Governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello, as its choice to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari, n 2023.
The group supporting Governor Bello’s Presidential ambition, PYB FRONTIERS, called on Nigerians to rally round the Governor, to ensure that he succeeds President Buhari.
The Leader of the group, Hans Mohammed, in a statement sent to Journalists, said that the movement has commenced consultation activities that will ensure the Governor emerges as the Candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, ticket in 2023.
Part of the statement reads:
“Look at the unity he has brought to the different ethnic groups in Kogi, through his appointments and spread of projects across the three Senatorial Districts of the State.
“This is why we are calling on him to vie for the seat of the President, so he can equally unite the people of Nigeria. He is a bridge-builder.”
The group insisted that a Bello-led Presidency would be an added advantage to Nigeria and Nigerians, stressing that he would be able to build on the legacies of President Buhari.
Meanwhile, Governor Bello’s name keeps coming up repeatedly as one of those likely to contest for the 2023 Presidential election.
Recently, campaign posters of the Kogi State Governor carrying inscriptions of his rumoured Presidential ambition surfaced on some major roads in Kano State.
The posters were pasted at strategic locations in the State, including parts of Murtala Muhammad Way, Airport road, and Sani Marshal road.
Recall, that all members of the Kogi State House of Assembly recently called on Governor Bello to put his hat in the ring for the Presidency in 2023.
According to the Lawmakers, the Governor ticked all the right boxes for the Presidential seat, and should be backed by all Nigerians to take over from President Muhammadu Buhari.
Before then, the Kogi State Commissioner for Information and Communication, Kingsley Fanwo, had announced on the social media, that Governor Bello is under pressure to contest the 2023 Presidential race.
The Commissioner went on to say that the desire of Nigerians for a great country, aligns with that of Governor Bello.
