Former Senate President, Bukola Saraki, has on Friday, commended the sacrifices of the Nigerian Army in protecting the nation.
Page 36 could recall, that January 15, every year, is commemorated as the Armed Forces Remembrance Day, to mark the end of the country’s 30-month Civil War, which ended on January, 15, 1970.
Saraki in his tweet, prayed that Almighty Allah continues to guide and protect the Armed Forces.
His words: ”Today, we remember the sacrifice of our men and women in uniform — and the families that they leave behind to serve and protect our nation.
”We thank you all for your service — and pray that Almighty Allah will continue to guide and protect you. #ArmedForcesRemembranceDay’.’
Earlier, the Presidency listed the achievements of the Military in the on-going fight against insurgency and violent crimes in the country.
The Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, listed the achievements in a special write up tagged: “Security Checklist: as Nigeria marks Armed Forces Remembrance Day’’, which was made available to Newsmen in Abuja, on Thursday
According to Adesina, as the milestone is marked this year, it also provides the opportunity to chronicle current landmark achievements by the Military, in tackling security challenges across the country.
