Electoral Commission Announces The Winner Of The Highly Contested Uganda Presidential Election, Amid Major Disputes

The incumbent President of Uganda, Yoweri Museveni, has won a sixth term in Office, with 58.6 percent of the votes cast, in an election disputed by his main rival and peoples favourite, Bobi Wine, who trailed with 34.8 percent, Page 36 learnt on Saturday.

The winner of the election was declared by the Electoral Commission in Uganda.

The Chairman of the Commission, Justice Simon Mugenyi Byabakama, said: “The Electoral Commission declares Yoweri Museveni… elected President of the Republic of Uganda.”
