The Abuja Electricity Distribution Company, AEDC, has said that customers in some parts of Abuja, will have interruption in electricity supply to their homes, offices, and other areas of activities, from Tuesday to Thursday, Page 36 learnt.
In a statement by the General Manager, Corporate Communications, Bode Fadipe, the interruption is to enable the maintenance crew of the Transmission Company of Nigeria, TCN, re-string the vandalised portion of the 132 kilovolt, kv, transmission line that evacuates energy from the Gwagwalada Transmission Station to Apo and Kukwaba Transmission Stations within the Federal Capital Territory, FCT.
“In order to cushion the effect of the three days interruption, AEDC has worked out modalities to back feed some of the affected areas, where possible.
“This will, however, engender a load shedding regime since existing nearby feeders will be saddled with more loads that they hitherto were not carrying.”
The affected areas include Utako, Wuye, Human Rights Radio, Suncity Estate, Galadimawa, Kabusa Garden, Idu Industrial, and Idu Railway Station.
The rest are Open University, CITEC Mbora Estate, Durumi, Games Village, Lugbe Across, Pyakassa, Chika, Kunchinhoro, and Brains & Hammer.
The AEDC in the statement, appealed to the customers for understanding, while saying that the 132kv Gwagwalada to Kukwaba line when repaired, will help to optimise power supply to the customers.
