Niger State Governor, Abubakar Sani-Bello, Announces The Release Of The 21 Abducted NSTA Bus Passengers, Kidnapped Kagara Abductees Still Missing

The Governor of Niger State, Abubakar Sani-Bello, has on Sunday, announced that the 21 bus passengers who were abducted by armed bandits one week ago, have been released, Page 36 learnt.

He broke the news on his official Twitter handle, this evening.

Page 36 could recall, that the Niger State Transport Authority, NSTA, bus conveying the travellers to Minna, the State capital, from Kontagora, was attacked at Yakila village, in Rafi Local Government Area of the State, exactly a week ago.

While a woman and her child were left at the scene of the attack, 21 other passengers were taken away.

The bandits later released a video where they threatened to kill the victims.

In the video which went viral on the social media, the armed bandits released gunshots into the air, forcing the female captives to run for cover, while the males pleaded with them.

Elsewhere, the victims kidnapped at Government Science College, in Kagara, and those abducted from their homes in Shiroro Local Government Area, are still in captivity.
