In a statement on Friday, the Counsel to the IPOB Leader, Ifeanyi Ejiofor, said that his Client would appear in court as earlier scheduled, despite the announcement of the annual vacation for the Judges.
Ejiofor stated that he received a confirmation from the Federal High Court in Abuja, that the hearing of Kanu’s case will proceed.
He said: “We have just received a confirmation from the Federal High Court Abuja, that hearing on our Client’s case above referred, will still go on as earlier scheduled, on Monday, next week, being the 26th day of July, 2021.
“Remember Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and the entire Legal team in your prayers. Thank you all, and remain blessed.”
Recall, that the hearing of Kanu’s case was hanging in the balance, due to the annual vacation of Federal Judges, which is expected to last till September 17, 2021.
Recall also, that Kanu’s Lawyer had boasted earlier that Kanu’s trial was never going to hold in Nigeria, stating that, the only trial going to hold, is the trial against the President Muhammadu Buhari Federal Government, in the United Kingdom, UK, over the alleged illegal arrest of the IPOB Leader, in Kenya.
