A former Presidential Aide, Reno Omokri, has accused President Muhammadu Buhari of transferring ‘bad luck’ to Nigeria’s Super Eagles Team, ahead of their match with Tunisia, at 8pm, tonight, at the ongoing AFCON 2021, Page 36 learnt.
He said this in reaction to the video call made by the President to the Eagles, wishing them good luck in the match, and urging them to keep winning in the competition.
Reno wrote on his verified Facebook Page on Sunday:
“Oh oh! Why did NFF allow Buhari speak with the Super Eagles players now! What is wrong with NFF? Have they forgotten what happened after he spoke to Anthony Joshua? Or our Eagles in the last AFCON? Please we want to win. Who has Buhari spoken to and they won? Our boys need to be focused. They don’t need any distraction. This nonsense must not repeat itself! If Buhari wants to call anybody, let him call Tinubu. Enough is enough! Akoba adaba Olorun ma je a ri.”
Earlier today, President Buhari urged the Super Eagles to go all out against Tunisia, in their last 16 game at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations.
He said this in a Zoom meeting with the team, from the Aso Rock Presidential Villa, in Abuja.
The President was in the meeting with the Minister of Youths and Sports Development, Sunday Dare.
He said: “I want to thank you for what you have done for the nation so far. You have to keep winning. Nigerians are proud of you.
“You have demonstrated patriotic zeal and a high level of discipline, determination, and commitment, in all the games you have played so far, and that is why we all are happy with you. The government will continue to support you within available resources at our disposal.”
