President Muhammadu Buhari’s Federal Government Begs Nigerian Doctors And Nurses To Sacrifice A Better Life Abroad And Bigger Salary/Allowance Packages And Remain In Nigeria To Help Improve The Dying Health Sector

The President Muhammadu Buhari Federal Government, has appealed to the Doctors and Nurses leaving the country in droves, to sacrifice and stay back in the country, to help improve the dying Health sector, Page 36 learnt.

The Minister of State for Health, Joseph Ekumankama, made the appeal when he spoke with Reporters on Monday, at the Federal Medical Centre, FMC, in Ebute Meta, Lagos State, reiterating the Federal Government’s assurance that measures are being deployed to address the brain drain in the country.

He inaugurated the Orthopedic and Trauma Centre, Molecular Building Complex, Oxygen Gas Plant, Clinical Training Centre, and Ultra-Modern Theatre.

Ekumankama admitted that the mass relocation of Health personnel is a problem and is very worrisome.

His words: “The greatest challenge facing the sector presently is the Doctors and Nurses leaving the country.

“As a sacrifice, I encourage them to stay back and help us revitalise the Health sector. We have witnessed that today with what is on ground in this Hospital.”
