The Ondo State Government under the leadership of Governor Rotimi Akeredolu, SAN, has on Tuesday, banned motorcycle operations and nightclub activities in the 18 Local Government Areas of the State, as a means of reducing the terrorists’ activities and other criminalities in the State, Page 36 learnt.
It also disclosed that there will be a crackdown on unregistered vehicles and vehicles without tinting permits.
Specifically, the government announced that motorcycle operations from of 6pm to 6am, and nightclub activities after 12 midnight, will no longer be permitted in the State.
Akogun Adetunji Adeleye, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Security Matters and Commander of Amotekun Corps in the State, disclosed the new directives in a statement.
He noted that the orders will be strictly enforced by the Security Agents in the State.
His words: “Law Enforcement Agencies are to resume enforcement on the Ban on Motorcycle Operations outside 6am-6pm, Night Club activities beyond 12 midnight, use of vehicles with tinted glasses without permit, unregistered vehicles, use of sticker number plates in lieu of car dealership approved stickers.
“Accordingly, all Security Agencies are hereby enjoined to impound all such motorcycles and vehicles, while the owners or riders would be prosecuted.”
